The Way Life Should Be
Traditional Cultivation Methods, Organic Inputs & Sustainable Practices
At Smooth Remedies, we believe that there is something new to learn about this beautiful plant every single day. Whether it be new cultivation methods or our diverse strain selection, we’re constantly pushing the envelope to put out our best work.
Our main focus is to produce strains that can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and pain and promote sleep and relaxation. Although we prioritize growing strains that offer strong medicinal properties, there are many other variables that play a crucial role in the overall cannabis experience, such as terpenes & flavonoids.
Terpenes are responsible for the smells in cannabis, while flavonoids contribute to the unique color of individual cultivars as well. Both terpenes and flavonoids contribute to cannabis’ smell and flavor.
The ability to preserve delicate cannabinoids, terpenes & flavonoids enlighten the cannabis experience through the full expression of each and every plant. We take great pride, care & attention to detail in each step, with a deep passion & love for the cultivation of the plant that has shown to benefit the lives of many.

Hi, I’m Mike Stewart — founder and owner of Smooth Remedies, based here in Midcoast Maine, established in 2021.
My journey with cannabis started about seven years ago when I began cultivating — and honestly, I never expected it would lead me here. I wasn’t someone who grew up smoking cannabis, and like a lot of people, I had misconceptions about the plant, shaped by limited experiences and by the culture I was raised in.
But life has a way of shifting your perspective when the timing is right.
Through my own journey, I’ve seen how often pharmaceutical medication is treated as the first — and sometimes only — answer to deeper, real-life struggles… But real healing isn’t always found in a prescription pill. I believe many of our problems call for returning to natural solutions, reconnecting with the earth, and remembering what our bodies and minds truly need.
From The moment I started learning about the broad range of this plants healing capabilities, I was drawn in — deeply. I became fascinated after learning just how helpful cannabis can be not just for those seeking to alleviate inflammation or stress, but for people truly suffering. While exploring this plant, I came across story after story of veterans with PTSD, patients going through chemotherapy, people living with chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, and serious health conditions — all finding real relief through this plant. That’s when it really clicked: this is medicine. It’s powerful. It’s life-changing. And yet, it’s still widely misunderstood.
Naturally, I began asking why. And the more I dug, the clearer it became: cannabis wasn’t outlawed because it was dangerous. It was outlawed because it was disruptive — to powerful industries like alcohol, tobacco, and especially pharmaceuticals. Prohibition wasn’t about public health. It was about protecting profits. And we’ve all been misled because of that— at the cost of progress and wellness. And it makes you wonder: how much have we missed out on because this plant was pushed underground?
That realization lit a fire in me. I knew I wanted to be part of changing the conversation — not just by growing clean, high-quality cannabis, but also helping break the stigma and reconnect people to what this plant really is.
As a cultivator, I’ve had the privilege of working hands-on with a wide range of genetics — and what I’ve learned is that cannabis is far more complex, far more intelligent, than most people realize. Every strain has its own personality, its own therapeutic potential, its own unique balance of compounds. Even two plants from the same seed can grow into completely different expressions of what the plant can be. It’s nature’s intelligence at work — and once you start paying attention, it begins to open your mind.
That’s what led me to create Smooth Remedies — not just as a cannabis brand, but as a mission to uplift those who feel stuck or forgotten, to be a voice of encouragement in dark seasons, and to believe in the light within others, even when they can’t see it themselves. I believe it’s important to remind ourselves that Growth doesn’t always look pretty, and it’s not always visible — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Sometimes growth looks like breaking down, starting over, and rethinking everything. Through this cultivation brand, I stand for healing, dignity, and getting back to our roots — including plant medicine, which deserves respect, not stigma. Not as a threat, not as a controlled substance — but as a powerful, natural medicine that has helped people for generations. At Smooth Remedies, we’re here to be part of that change — to keep pushing forward with curiosity, compassion, and a deep belief in what’s possible when we reconnect with the earth, and with each other.
